Election day: from station to tally centre
Why agents, readiness checks and fast, verified tallies decide close races.
Close races are often decided after the polls close. Every polling station needs a trained agent who witnesses the count and records the declared results.
Forms matter
Results are declared on IEBC statutory forms at each polling station — for example Form 34A for the presidential election and Form 35A for Members of the National Assembly — and then collated at higher levels.
Verify before you celebrate
Have agents submit station results from their phones with a photo of the form, verify them at HQ, and compare your tally with official publications. Log incidents factually and escalate them through the proper channels.
